Highlights of the Day!

Hmm interesting title. One I don't know that these are "High" lights and two they all happened in one day, today.
1. Caylee has managed to tear into the same present three times today. Needless to say it is put away and no longer under the tree. (Sorry great grandma Deskin). 2. While I was cleaning Caylee managed to unroll half a roll of toilet paper. It was all over the bathroom, down the hall, and across the living room. 3. Caylee managed to get my Texans coaster off my nightstand and chew a hole in it. 4. Caylee managed to get some wipes down and cover Cade's bed with them. 5. Caylee tore more holly off my snowman nutcracker. 6. Caylee pulled numerous balls of cotton (snow) off the edge of my snow village and left them in various places around the house. This was before and after I had finished vac. the carpet. 7. As I write this post she has now ripped another ornament off the tree. 8. Caylee has caused at least 58 of my hairs to turn gray. Ok that one I might have imagined. :)
I am noticing a pattern here. :S I know some of you thought that I had forgot to post because I haven't written in so long. However, as you can see I have my hands full and just haven't had the time to sit down. Here is to hoping tomorrow is a smoother day. Lol. :)

The Dentist

After a little encouragement from one of the greatest aunts, (and by this I mean her flat out telling me to quit being a baby and do it) I called and got Cade his first dentist appt. I HATE going to the dentist even for a cleaning. I hate the smells, the sounds, and the pain. I called a place here in Amarillo called Koolsmiles. The night before his appt. people all over started telling me all these horror stories about the place I had picked. I was soo nervous for him. I kept telling myself to act like it was going to be the greatest thing since Coca-cola and Hershey's chocolate so that Cade wouldn't be scared. However, my stomach was so sick that morning. Well we go in and I fill out pgs. and pgs. of paperwork while Jeff tries to entertain Cade. As soon as I get them filled out they are already calling us back. The office was very kid friendly when we got to the back. They had cute animals painted on the wall. In the room where they clean teeth they had it painted with all kinds of fish and ocean creatures. Cade cried and was scared to death. However, since it was his first time I thought he did spectacular. The hygenist was very sweet and the dentist was nice and gentle with Cade as well. When he was done he got a new toothbrush, a dinosaur flosser, and a toy out of their toy bucket. Then he went to the room with a pig painted on it and got his picture made for the "No cavity wall." I was sooo proud of my little prince. We already have his next cleaning scheduled for April and I know that it will go great as well. Thank you so much Shelly for being my cheerleader. :)

My Hands are Full

OMG my daughter is a mess!!! When she was smaller we bathed her in a bathseat that fit in our kitchen sink. Right before she grew out of it she ripped the kitchen sink loose. TWICE!!! Then tonight Cade is wearing his new PJ's Toy Story. Well little Miss Caylee loves them, so she keeps going and grabbing his pants and pulling them down. LOL He has to keep running to the couch to keep his pants on. Haha!! Then a few min. ago I was talking to a friend online about a very serious subject. All of a sudden I look up and Caylee has the door to the VCR in her hands. Now we don't really use our VCR since we have DVD and Blu-Ray but there are still some old favorites that we haven't replaced yet. I guess we better get on the ball and upgrade. It scares me to think what this little toot will be getting into as she gets older. :) Oh well at least she gave me a couple of good laughs tonight.

Naptime

A few weeks ago we bought Caylee a baby doll. She loves stuffed animals so we thought it was time for her to have her own baby. Weeelll, Mister Cade has kind of taken to this baby. He carries it around on his shoulder patting her back and saying "aahh it's ok." He even lets out a fake cry every now and then for the baby. :) It is pretty cute. Today I was rocking Caylee for her nap and Cade picks up the baby doll. He sits on the couch rocking and patting "his" baby. When I go to put Caylee down here he comes with "his" baby. Sure enough you guessed it, when I lay Caylee down he hands me the doll to put in the crib too. I politely smiled, took the baby, and gently laid her in the crib with Caylee. He smiled and you could tell he was so proud that he had put the baby down for a nap. Then we headed outside to play in his clubhouse, sandbox, and swing for a bit. I know one day he will be an outstanding daddy.

The Copycat

You always hear about "the little one" wanting to do everything that "the big one" does. At our house it is just the opposite. Cade is a copycat to almost everything Caylee is doing now. He crawls around the house with her, he pulls up on the furniture with her, he even sucks his thumb with her. Tonight I was putting away laundry and when I look over they are both chewing on the baby gate. Then while they were in the tub, Caylee started splashing and growling at me. As soon as Cade noticed he too was splashing and growling at me. It is so funny to see how they interact with each other. It is like living with two little monkeys on crack, lol. Needless to say there is NEVER a dull moment at our house.

The Evil Eye

Today was Caylee's nine month checkup. I can not believe our little princess is already nine months old. Anyways Jeff worked all night so I had both kids with me. They both did so good. I was so proud of them. However, when I think back to the appt. I can't help but smile and sometimes laugh when I think about it. Like all babies Caylee did not like it when the Dr. checked her ears/throat and she really hated the shot. Both times she cried I looked down and Cade was giving the Dr./nurse the evil eye. They are both very lucky that looks really can't kill because Cade would have killed them right there on the spot. I have never seen that kind of fire in his eyes. Look out future boyfriends, Caylee's brother definetly has her back.:)

Fishing

Today I busted my butt cleaning, doing laundry, ironing, and taking care of the kids. So tonight Jeff offered to bathe the kids while I drank a chocolate mocha. After he had bathed each of them he took Caylee out and dried her off. When he finished with her he went to get Cade out. While busy with Caylee, Cade decided to take a dump in the tub. When Jeff looked around the door Cade was picking up the terds and throwing them back into the water, haha. Then when Jeff made him stop and got him out he cried, lol. I offered to go clean the tub again but Jeff was nice enough to do it for me. He got an old coffee can and fished the terds out of the tub before scrubbing it down for me. This was one night I was sooo thankful Jeff was off and had offered to bathe the kids, lol. ;)

All in a Days Time

For a couple of weeks now little Miss Caylee has been army crawling. Well the other day she got up on all fours and is now a full fledged crawler. On that same day I left the room for just a few short minutes and when I came back she was PULLING UP on her walker. What the heck?! That's not all though. That night after I bathed her, she started using her bath towel to play peek-a-boo with me. No joke she mastered all the skills in just one days time. I can't believe how fast she is growing and learning. I know kids grow up fast, but to see them accomplish everything in one short day is just too overwhelming. I will definetly have to keep on my toes with this one, haha. She is such a loving little girl and loves to play with her big brother. Being a mother of two is everything I dreamed and so much more.

Great Job Babe

The other night before Jeff went into work we were bowling on the Wii. Cade loves watching us play. Every time I got a strike Jeff would say, "Good job babe." Cade always cheers us on. However, on this paticular day he decided to repeat everything. So every time Jeff would say good job babe, Cade would say it. It was so funny. When we finished I said, "No Cade, I am Momma not Babe." He pointed to his chest and said, "I am Momma." Huh that boy. I love him to death. He is so silly!! As for the potty training he is still doing really good. He is using the potty more and more and his underwear less. :) He is also doing a great job of sharing with his sister and usually doesn't have to be reminded. I can't believe he is already almost 2 and a half. The time is flying by but I am loving every minute, and am so blessed to have this sweet little boy in my life.

Potty, teeth, and toes, goodbyes and hello's.

Our life is like a roller coaster right now. A really fun and exciting one. The kids are doing so many new and diff. things. Cade is learning to wear big boy undies. He is doing so good. We have only been at it about four days but he is already having fewer accidents and he is not even 2 and a half yrs. old. I am soo proud of him. Today Caylee wanted to sit in the bathroom with us. So I had her on my lap while Cade sat on his froggy potty. While he sat there he counted her toes. It was so cute. Caylee now has two teeth and looks absoulutely adorable. She sits up on her own and has mastered army crawling. She is so fast and into EVERYTHING. The other night while Cade and I were in the bathroom she got a hold of my coke and dumped it all over the laptop. Huhhh! I am running between the two of them night and day and loving every minute of it. Caylee has also learned to wave. It is so sweet! She sits in the middle of the living room waving all day, haha. I don't know if she is saying goodbye or hello, but she loves to wave. I am so THANKFUL that I get to be home with my babies to watch them learn and grow. It is such a blessing to be here and witness each and every milestone. :)

What's in a name?

For several yrs. now I have teased my mom and dad about becoming older and am always calling them Grandma and Grandpa. :)So of course we call them that all the time now. They come over and see the kids often and we make several trips to Borger to spend time with them. Cade loves playing with them, of course being a boy he seems to favor my dad. He loves letting Grandpa pull him in the wagon or wrestle on the bed. If we go out to eat and he gets bored Grandpa is the first to take him outside or walk him around the restaurant. Well the other day Cade started saying a new word. He said Papa. Now as a mother every new word completely melts my heart. However, when he said Papa for the first time the look on my dad's face was priceless. I know without a doubt by the smile on his face and the twinkle in his eyes his heart melted a lot more than mine did that day. It was a very sweet moment that we will cherish forever. Here is a pict. of Cade and his Papa.

What's new...

So much is happening right now that I thought I better get with it and share. My little princess is doing and growing so much. She is almost crawling. She will get on her knees and rock back and forth and then belly-flop. I know any day now she will be chasing Cade all over the house. She loves giving kisses and loves playing with her big brother. As for Cade he loves playing with Caylee. He talks to her, shares toys, and hugs on her all the time. If it is time to put her down for a nap or bed and we forget to let him kiss her he goes nuts. He is also talking a lot now. He still jibber-jabbers some but most of the time you can pretty much carry on a conversation with him. He is also becoming very independent. He doesn't want to hold hands at town he wants to walk, or shall I say hop and jump on his own. He also loves to get into the cabinet and observe every snack 2-3 times before he picks the one he wants, lol. Jeff and I are doing well ourselves. His nights are going good and we both enjoy his schedule of 4 on 4 off. I can't believe that next week will be our anniversary and that we have already been married four yrs. Time sure does go fast. Here is a pic. of our beautiful babies.

Innocence

This morning when Jeff got off of work we all ate breakfast together. When we were finished and we had spent a little time together, Jeff decided to hit the hay. He bent down and kissed Caylee. Then he kissed Cade and said, "Night night." Cade said,
"night night" and then grabbed his shirt and ran to his bed. Jeff and I kind of laughed and then went into his room to explain that he didn't have to go to bed but that his daddy did. :) Tonight Cade and I were sitting together and he was watching one of his favorite shows. At the end of the program he clapped his hands, waved, and said bye. His sweet innocence can melt my heart, bring tears to my eyes, or make me giggle inside. I will be so sad when he no longer has that childhood innocence, until then I will cherish every minute of it.

Sh-- Happens

Have you ever heard the expression "shit happens"? Yeah me too. However, after this evening it takes on a whole new meaning to me. After we ate dinner we were all sitting in the living room. A nice peaceful little family. Well Cayleebug started fussing so Jeff said he would go change her diaper. It just so happens that it was a dirty one and when he got back to her room he realized the wipes were in the front. So he comes carrying her by her little hands and feet into the living room, crap and all. I ask him what he is doing and he says, "Where are the wipes?" I told him that they were right beside me and why didn't he holler. He cleans her up and redresses her. Well now Cade is fussing. He comes up to me and is rubbing his hand so I say,"Ah did you hurt your hand? You will be ok." I see Caylee's dirty diaper still laying in the floor so I pick it up and toss it into the diaper pail. Cade is still fussing and rubbing his hand so I bend down and kiss it. Then it hits me, that kiss tasted funny. I look at his hand more closely and yep you guessed it. He has Caylee's crap all over him. He hates his hands being dirty, he wasn't hurt he was sticky and stinky. The taste in my mouth, crap!! I clean him up and then immediately go brush my teeth. Oh I am soo irritated at Jeff for not asking for help and for leaving a dirty diaper in the floor. It has been a little over an hour now and I am still trying to take deep breaths and not barf everywhere. I am sure as one of my followers you are on the floor laughing, I am not. However, I know that one day I will look back at this and laugh. I also know that you are all wondering about Jeff. Don't worry he is still alive and I still love him, he is just in time out for now. Huh, shit happens!! ;)

He did it Again!!

Well Cade did it again. He completely melted my heart. The other day I was getting ready and Jeff came into the room to give me a hug. Cade came in behind him and got right inbetween our legs. He pushed and grunted until he had us seperated. Now this wasn't the first time he has done this. However, after pushing us apart he reaches up for me, so I lift him up. Once I get him on my hip and he is eye level with us he looks right into his daddy's eyes and in the sweetest most non-aggresive voice says, "mine." Jeff's mouth hit the floor and I melted into a complete puddle of emotions. It was the sweetest thing these ears have ever heard. That boy has me completely wrapped around his little finger, there isn't ANYTHING in this world I wouldn't do for him. I LOVE my little prince. :)

A Tale of Two Kiddies

When we brought Caylee home from the hospital Cade's life was turned upside down. My mom stayed with us all week, we had lots of visitors, and there was this little creature in our home. He would watch as we did the daily task taking care of a new born. Not long after she was here he started rubbing her head. Then a few months ago he started saying "aw sweet" as he rubbed her head. And now well lets just say that they are the best of buddies. Lastnight I was sitting here and I look over at the couch where Caylee was laying. Cade was standing there just talking to her and then they both started laughing. He rubbed her head and then he kissed her. Caylee was smiling and cooing the whole time her big brother loved on her. I am so blessed to have two sweet precious babies in my life, and I am so glad that they love each other so much already. I know they will have lots of great memories growing up together.

Cowboy Kisses

Today was a gorgeous day. So we decided to take Cade out this afternoon while Caylee napped. We took out the sidewalk chalk and drew pictures, played hide-n-seek, and chased Cade all over the front yard. He looked so cute running like a madman in his cowboy boots. I started chasing him around saying I'm going to get you. He would run a few feet and then turn around and go mmmmaw and kiss me. Hah it melted my heart, these are the moments I have always waited for. I told Jeff that Cade didn't have to take a nap today we would just stay out in the front yard all day so that I could get some more of those Cowboy Kisses. :)

The Clapper

The other night my mom and dad came over to see the kids. While they were here Cade and my mom were playing with his basketball goal. She started clapping for him and saying "yeah". Well now every time Cade does anything he claps for himself. So we clap as well and say "Yeah Cade". Yesterday Cade was outside with Jeff and threw such a fit that he knocked Jeff's glasses off his face and onto the sidewalk. Jeff brought him in and spanked him. Then he told Cade to say he was sorry. Cade stopped crying and said, "sar" then immediately started clapping and said "yeah Cade." I look at Jeff through clenched teeth. He had his teeth clenched as well. However, we couldn't hold it any longer we both got so tickled. Needless to say we (Jeff and I) still have a lot of work to do when it comes to disiplining our children. ;)

Bye

Used to when people would leave Cade would have a major melt down. Now that he is a little older he will stand at the window and wave while repeatedly saying "bye". At night after we read him his bedtime stories we say we love you and he replies, "bye". When he is doing something we don't want him to and tell him he needs to stop he says "bye". It is so hard not to laugh when he does that. Well yesterday morning I put him on our bed to watch one of his movies so that I could get in a 30 min. workout. He looked so cute sitting on that bed that I just stood there watching him. After only a few short minutes he looks over at me and says "bye". I laughed but respected his wishes to watch his cartoon in peace and left the room. I know that with a blink of the eye this phase like many others will be gone, so I am going to enjoy the sound of my little man always saying "bye". And for now to my reader's "bye".

My Sunshine

When you turn on the evening news to check the weather you never know what your going to hear. Well I don't have that problem, sure my weather person is always saying something different, but at my house the forecast is always bright and sunny. Now don't get me wrong the Flowers family does have it's days, but not little Caylee. It doesn't matter what time night or day she is my little sunshine. Always smiling from ear to ear. I love that sweet happy little round face. The other night, four a.m. to be exact, I hear her stirring in her bed. I go in to check on her and she is burried under her blanket. When I pull the blanket back she is flopping around like a wild woman with a HUGE grin on her face. I am NOT a morning person and for sure not one at four a.m. However, I could help smiling. I ask her what was she doing and told her it was not time to get up and she laughed at me. I couldn't help but laugh also. So here I am at four in the morning having a laughing contest with my daughter :) I wrapped her back up and put her pacifier in her mouth and went back to bed. Luckily she went back to sleep as well. I guess she just wanted some company for a few minutes before we finished our night.;)

Let's get ready to rumble!!

I hate wrestling. It comes on every Mon. and Thurs. at our house. Jeff has always been a fan and always will be. He records it on our DVR since he is working nights. This Mon. the tv flipped over to Spike and started recording. Well I was playing with Caylee and never got up to turn it off. Cade has seen it before but it has been months since him and his daddy watched it together. That night he stood in front of the tv watching it intently. All of a sudden I hear his sweet voice saying, "oooh ouch ugh."I kind of chuckled to myself when all of a sudden with excitement in his little voice he says as clear as day, "Aww that's sweet." I just about hit the floor laughing. It was so cute but then I also felt a little frustration because now I don't just have one wrestling fan in the house I now have two of them, haha. Aah from the mouth of babes.

I think it is time to wash my hair!!

Every morning as I take my bath I have a very sweet little boy standing at the side of the tub to keep me company. Today as I was washing my hair I opened my eyes and Cade was standing there rubbing his hair. I ask him if he was washing his hair. He then put his hands down walked up to the tub and started to pick up my shampoo bottle. I love watching him learn everyday task and words. However, please keep your fingers crossed for me that he does not decide to wash his hair when I am busy with Caylee, cooking supper, or some other task. I can only imagine the mess that he would make, lol. :)

Can you say...

For the last couple of months Cade has been throwing lots of fits. He will want something and if we don't know what it is or say no he looses it. Lots of times he will want us to do something with his toys and we won't have a clue what it is, then he cries, screams, and hits. So a couple of weeks ago I bought him some flashcards. I thought that maybe if he could start learning more words the communication barrier would not be so hard for him or us. Well yesterday I was so excited. Jeff got out his cards and Cade was repeating all the words after Jeff would say them. It was the cutest thing. All evening and this morning we will say a word and then have Cade repeat it. This morning Cade was laying in bed with Jeff and I so we started going over the parts of his body and he would repeat the word. When we got to fingers Cade layed there a minute thinking and then put both hands on his head and said, "I don't know." We busted out laughing and he laughed too. I guess there are some words that he is just not ready for ;) I know though that in no time he will be saying fingers and all kinds of things. I love hearing his sweet little voice. As for Caylee she is not saying words of course but she is beginning to roll over and can sit in the bumbo for quite awhile before she gets tired. I am so proud of both of them. It is so fun watching them grow and learn new things. I looove being a mommy.

The true beauty of having a daughter

When I found out I was having a girl I was so excited I could hardly wait. We had Cade and had done all the sport decorations and little boy clothes. As fun and exciting as that was I was really looking forward to having another female in the house. Jeff said he was equally excited however, his actions didn't quite measure up. So I ask him what was going on. He said nothing and that he was just as excited about Caylee as he had been about Cade. After a few weeks I approached him again and found out that he was a little apprehensive about having a girl. He has five brothers and absolutely no sisters. He said he wouldn't know what to do with her and all the girly stuff that girls have. I told him it would be a piece of cake and that he would be fine. Well I think he has definetly done an excellent job of having a little girl. Yesterday we were going to spend the day out. He got the kids ready while I got ready myself. When I was finished he brought Caylee into our room and let me say, she was all dolled up. Her great aunt Rox had bought her an outfit that had a little pink tutu, her grandma had bought her some socks that look like dress shoes, and we had bought her some hairbows. He not only had her in her cute little tutu he also had on the little dress shoe socks and a matching hairbow. She looked so cute that we immediately started snapping pictures and I just had to share them with you. Here is our little doll ready to go shopping :) Great job Daddy!!!

My Little Mini Me

To begin this story I must first tell you a little about myself. First of all, I love to take warm baths. I like being around people. I love to talk. I like to hear what other people have to say. I always enjoy a good laugh. I am very nosy. I don't need alot of sleep. I have the worst digestive system. And I am always ready to be up and about doing something. Now that being said, I must tell you about a VERY special little girl. My daughter Caylee. She is the sweetest happiest baby around. She has the Flowers physical traits but she has got MY big brown eyes. She loves to take warm baths. When I run the water over her in the morning she has the biggest smile on her little round face. She loves being around people. Caylee will smile from ear to ear when someone sits down by her or picks her up. And if you talk to her she will grin and always coo's something back. She will sit and listen to you talk for hours. She has even started learning how to laugh. I love it. Not only will she enjoy a good conversation but she is also a little nosy. She is always watching to see who is in the room, who leaves the room, and she constantly has her eyes on her crazy big brother. She loves to stay up late and usually gets up early. Sadly though, she does have an awful digestive system, which I am hoping gets better as she gets older. Caylee loves moving around and seeing what is going on in the house. I love that she is so happy and enjoys all the things that I do. When she is awake I can't pull myself away to take care of chores because her smile is so addicting. I love every second, every minute, and every day with her. It doesn't matter what kind of mood I'm in Caylee can put a smile on my face. It is so much fun having her in my life and I look forward to all the fun times we will have together.
